Pool Rules

To ensure our Members and their Guests fully enjoy their pool experience at Germantown Cricket Club, we ask that you respectfully abide by these guidelines during your visit with us.

  1. All Members and their Guests MUST check-in at the Gazebo upon arrival and before enjoying the pool area.
  2. Cell phones may be used for data if the sound is muted. All cell phones must be on vibrate in consideration of other guests enjoying the pool.
  3. Members and their Guests shall behave in a courteous manner and be respectful of other members, guests, and staff.
  4. Pool Hours are set by Management. During inclement weather conditions, we will close the pool for the safety of our members. An email will be sent to all members.
  5. Swimming is strictly prohibited when no lifeguard is on duty, with the exception of adults who are participating in the waiver swim program.
  6. Members and their Guests may not reserve chairs, chaise lounges, or tables. They are on a first-available basis.
  7. Appropriate bathing attire must be worn at all times when using the pools. Children wearing swimming diapers must wear swim diaper covers and are permitted in the shallow end of the main pool.
  8. Appropriate cover-ups, including shirts or similar garments, must be worn when entering or walking through the Clubhouse from the pool area. Proper footwear is also required at all times when traveling to and from the pool. Members and guests should arrive at and depart from the pool fully covered and wearing shoes while inside any Club facilities, including hallways, dining areas, restrooms, and common spaces. This policy helps maintain Club standards of cleanliness, safety, and member comfort.
  9. Lanes marked by floating markers are reserved for lap swimming or water aerobics when so designated. Lap swimmers may be asked to share a lane. No standing, loitering, floating, or other activities, other than water aerobics that would interfere with lap swimming, is permitted in these designated lanes.
  10. Only 1 person at a time is permitted on the diving board. Diving off the side of the board is also prohibited, as is any horseplay on or around the diving board. Juniors under 15 are not permitted to do flips off the diving board.
  11. The diving well (area in front of the diving board) must be clear of all swimmers, and the person on the diving board must ensure the previous swimmer has cleared the diving area prior to their dive into the pool.
  12. Smoking is prohibited in and around all areas surrounding the pool.
  13. No outside food or beverage is permitted in the pool area. Food purchased at the snack bar or from a server poolside may be consumed in the pool snack bar area or at chairs, chaise lounges, or tables along the pool deck. No food or beverage is permitted in the pool. We ask that all members and their guests promptly dispose of food and container waste in the appropriate trash and recycling receptacles.
  14. We ask that the bathrooms be utilized for changing into and out of bathing attire, and all diapers are disposed of in the appropriate trash receptacles.
  15. Running and horseplay in the pool area is prohibited.
  16. Children 6 years of age and under are permitted to use the Children's Pool. Children older than 6 years with special needs may be permitted to use the Children's Pool with the approval of the Pool Director.
  17. All children using the Children's Pool must be directly supervised at all times by their parent or guardian.
  18. Floats, rafts, and other floatation devices are prohibited in the Main Pool. Pool toys may be permitted with the approval of the Pool Director.
  19. The Pool Director and his or her staff will have final say on all matters concerning pool safety and rule enforcement for the safety of our members and their guests.
  20. Members are responsible for their Guest's compliance with all club rules, including the wearing of proper attire and for any charges they may incur. Violation of club rules by Guests will be considered a violation of club rules by the member host.
  21. Members are allowed to have guests visit the pool no more than twice per month. Guests who violate this rule may lose their guest privileges. Repeated violations may result in the suspension of privileges.
  22. Towel Service is provided for the convenience of our Members and Guests. Towels should be returned to the laundry receptacle provided prior to leaving the pool area.
